KHS&S International Creates Family Destination Resort in Vietnam Mountains
(Hoa Vang District, Vietnam – July 6, 2010) KHS&S International-Middle East has begun design development and construction on several attractions at a fully integrated destination resort in the misty mountains of Vietnam near Da Nang City.
The complex includes the Ba Na Hills Family Entertainment Center (FEC), a castle, French village and outdoor thrill park.
KHS&S International is providing project management support, concept design, design management and construction fit-out of the FEC. KHS&S has also been commissioned to develop the master plan and concept design for a French village, exterior facades for the castle, the exterior facades and interior concept design for a nightclub, and the concept design for an outdoor thrill park at the resort.
The FEC is an indoor, multi-level complex that will feature rides, attractions, restaurants, a climbing wall and other family activities. The project is scheduled for completion in March 2011.
The FEC is comprised of three levels covering a total of 15,000 square meters (161,458 square feet). Each level will carry a theme based on the works of Jules Verne. The French science fiction writer penned more than 50 novels, including Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea, A Journey to the Centre of the Earth and Around the World in Eighty Days.
The site is reached by a 14-kilometer (nearly 9-mile) winding mountain road and the longest single-run cable car in the world, according to Guinness World Records. The cable car carries passengers to the site, which is 1.4 kilometers above sea level.
The entertainment center is being constructed in the Hoa Vang District, about 30 kilometers (19 miles) from the center of Da Nang City. In the 1920s, Ba Na was a French resort that boasted 200 villas, restaurants and clubs.
